I put this site together as I could not find anywhere on the internet where I could a truck load of dirt. My only option was to go to a garden centre and buy it. I could see dirt everywhere being dug up but I could not get any.
On my journey to a garden centre, I saw a sign on the side of the road. It said "Fill wanted" We all have seen this before, I decided then to go straight home and search the internet for fill wanted. I thought this would be a great idea. Nope. I found nothing at all except a blog saying "I saw a sign on the side of the road saying "Fill Wanted"" Great, no help there. I could not believe it.
I put up my own sign and nothing. I had to find a place that was getting their pool dug out and I asked them for some of the spoil. They agreed and I got my dirt. I then decided to make a website that can help people like me. I called it Fillwanded.com.au (great name)
I only work on it in my spare time and tied so hard to keep it free. It has been totally free for 5 years, but the software and hosting cost just got too much. Thought about bringing it down, but I had too many people stuck in the same position I was. I thought if I could get a little money to keep it going, more people can benefit.
